As you will have no doubt noticed, things have been quiet on here recently, largely due to holidays and a general shift away from Carp fishing, in favour of a spot of course fishing. No harm done though, as now, after a break and a battery recharge, i’m well and truly back onto my Carping!

Turning 24 in June, I decided to keep things low key, and opted to fish the night before my birthday to allow me to wake up in the beautiful surroundings of Robin’s lake and really start my 24th year as i mean to go on.

Sadly, despite observing fish for hours, they failed to respond to my boilie or sweetcorn hookbaits and i blanked. However, this was hardly a surprise, and the real star of the show was the fantastic storm that battered me and my brolly for most of the night. Check the video out:
