It’s been a bit of a lean spell in terms of time on the bank for me over the last coupe of months. In September i started a course at the local university to improve my French, and this has meant that any free time has been spent with my head in a dictionary and a puzzled frown upon my brow!
On the bright side, the Exclusive Angling Holidays season draws to a close on friday and with it comes the chance for me to get down onto Rouge and trick out some of those huge lumps - and hopefully some of the 40s that have remained uncaught all season. I was lucky enough to have a little sneak preview of what Rouge can produce in winter when, last week, i squeezed in alongside our customers for a night’s fishing.
I managed 5 runs, of which three were banked. The biggest, pictured below, weighed in at a shade under 29lbs, and was preceded by lovely specimens of 22lb 8oz and around 10lbs. The other two runs were botched on my part, i think i was a little rusty!
